Opened in 2012 with a grand walking party which symbolized the bridge's intended purpose of extending the energy of downtown Dallas across the Trinity River and further west, the bridge has been a social, urban, visual and cultural hub bringing Dallas into the same global conversation that architect Santiago Calatrava had inspired in other projects around the world.
